The Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) is an international centre of knowledge and expertise dedicated to improving the lives of people with dementia. With offices in Stirling, Belfast and London, DSDC has a rich history of over 25 years of experience in improving the design of care environments in dementia, with the primary goal to make communities dementia-friendly, to influence policy and to improve services for people with dementia.

Dr Sridhar Vaitheswaran, who has worked closely with DSDC in Stirling was invited to speak at the International Dementia Conference which took place on the 3rd and 4th of November, 2015 at Birmingham, UK. The Conference was an opportunity for everyone involved in supporting people with dementia and their carers, both in the UK and internationally to meet, share ideas and expertise and facilitate collaborations internationally towards better care for persons with dementia.

In his talk, Dr Sridhar Vaitheswaran highlighted the pressing need that is dementia care in the Indian setting, and how SCARF, Chennai with the support of the INFOSYS Foundation, is playing a crucial role towards the same through the DEMCARES project.
